Let’s Go! Streaks and Goals Edition…

My four-mile run today pushed me over the October Step Month Challenge goal of 300,000 steps. I was already confident I’d hit it, since 300,000 steps over 31 days works out to less than 10,000 a day. But I finished a few days early, and it’s not even noon today.

Boom.

Other streaks:

  • 527 days in a row reading the Bible.
  • 144 days in a row solving the Daily Chess Puzzle at Chess.com.
  • 28 days in a row having a cold. (Not a good streak.)
  • 302/365 days so far completing the NY Times Crossword Puzzle

Although, on that last one, while I’ve completed all 302 puzzles, I can’t honestly say I did them every single day. On vacation, I might have skipped a day or two or done more than one to catch up.

Anyway, that’s it. Setting goals, hitting goals, keeping streaks alive, and apparently keeping this cold alive, too.

Some streaks are more impressive than others.  Like, 22,136 days in a row not dying.  Boom again!!!

(side note, there are only two days in your life with less than 24 hours.  The day you were born (I was born at 8:00 a.m.) and the day you die.)
